Teachers and Students in Karaoke Battle
Posted: 6th June 2022Students and staff enjoyed an inter-house singing contest.
The lunchtime event gave the school community an opportunity to share some fun – while seeing an alternative side to their teachers.
Hundreds of students attended the sing-along to support their peers.
Joe Beckwith, subject lead for music, said: “We aim to provide our students with a range of opportunities outside of their lessons, so they can really be involved in the wider school community, develop their skills and have some fun.
“Our students really enjoyed seeing a different side to their teachers outside of the classroom, and we look forward to putting on future events involving both staff and students.
“I was so impressed by the numbers of people wanting to perform. We will definitely be looking to arrange another karaoke event soon.”
Dance teacher George Hicks said: “After attending the house karaoke event, all I am hearing around school is ‘when is the next one’ and ‘can we have this every Friday?’.
“It created a wonderful atmosphere, with Year 7s through to Year 11s interacting and enjoying themselves as a community.”
