Posted: 25th August 2023Head girl Hannah Hamid has taken a step towards her dream of studying law at Cambridge University.
The Year 11 student collected six Grade 9, two Grade 8 and two Grade 7 in her GCSEs today.
She will now study history, English literature, maths and further maths as she strives for one of the country’s top universities.
She said: “I am very pleased with my results. Some are more than I had hoped for.
“I started my revision early and made sure I enjoyed my subjects and worked hard. I did everything I possibly could to get these results.
“My teachers were very passionate about their subjects which made me like my subjects and want to do well.
“I have always wanted to study law at Cambridge; that’s the dream. It is nice to see that I can work hard and that it has all paid off.”
Of her role as head girl throughout Year 11, she said: “It was a great experience. I had always wanted to be head girl, from when I joined in Year 7 and saw the position.
“I got involved with everything and made friends with my teachers. I helped to organise a debating competition and introduce the first school year book in several years.
“I got to spend time with great people who shared the same dreams and attributes as me; similar, like-minded people.”
