New sport kit from Twickenham
Posted: 25th October 2019A new rugby kit has been designed by young players at Twickenham Stadium.
Four keen rugby players from Burnt Mill Academy spent the day at the home of England rugby.
During the visit, they were challenged to come up with a new rugby top design which has been produced and gifted to the school.
Phil Dawes, BMAT director of sport, said: “We are building links with Twickenham and this opportunity came our way as a result.
“The recent World Cup generated more interest in the sport and it was great to be able to offer an opportunity like this to our keen players.”
The day was part of All Schools, the Rugby Football Union’s initiative to get more children from state schools into the sport.
The students – Year 11s Asa Fletcher-Snow and Klary Rikhotso and Year 8s Zahraa Dahir and Mia Montalbano - were given a tour of the stadium, including stepping onto the pitch and visiting the changing rooms.
